Waltraut Johanna Gessert

Waltraut Johanna Gessert passed away on October 30, 2014. She was born in Stettin, Germany in June of 1929 to the late Albert Grunsdorf and Anna (Strassenburg) Grunsdorf. Waltraut came to the United States in January of 1953 and lived in Baltimore until she moved to Glen Burnie in 1957. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member of Baltimore Kickers Soccer Club in which she was very active and was involved in many of their activities. Waltraut loved all kinds of needlework and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Friedrich A. Gessert of Glen Burnie; daughters, Hannelore Wall of Stevensville, Karen Evelius of Towson; grandchildren, Kurt Wall, Keith Wall; great grandchildren, Aurora Pierce and Davison Wall. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Winfred "Fred" Gessert.
