Wayne Michael Wight of Queen Anne, Maryland passed away on February 3, 2019 at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville following a stroke. He was 75 years old. Wayne was born on July 18, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to Joseph Earl Wight, Jr. and Vera Malinda Fitzhugh Wight Zephir. He graduated from Southern High School in Baltimore in 1961. He served the United States in the Air Force then worked for IBM as a repairman for 35 years. He married Linda Gail Delaney Wight on January 25, 1968. They were married for 51 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant twin sisters, Jean and Joan Wight; and his step-father, August Mason Zephir Sr. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Malinda Wight Larrimore and her husband, Michael of Cordova; his daughter, Julieanne Wight Atwell and her husband, Ryan of Easton; and his grandsons: Tristan Atwell, Ethan Larrimore, Trevor Atwell, and Drew Larrimore; his sister, Jeanette Wight Moulton of Glen Burnie; and step-brother, Joseph Zigas Jr. and his wife, Sandy of Southern Maryland.
The family will receive visitors at Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home in Glen Burnie, Maryland, Thursday, February 7, 3-5pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place Friday, February 8, 11am at the funeral home with internment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn Park. Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Camp Lazy Days, a special needs summer camp that Trevor attends, at the Easton Family YMCA (Note Lazy Days in the subject line) 202 Peachblossom Road, Easton, MD 21601 or The Benedictine School, a school for special needs children and adults where Ethan attends, at Benedictine Foundation 14299 Benedictine Lane, Ridgely, MD 21660.
