William Samuel Jacobs

William Samuel Jacobs passed away suddenly on December 14, 2015 at Harbor Hospital.  Born in Rowland, NC on September 18, 1943 to the late Lacy Rother Jacobs and the late Mary Frances (Owens) Jacobs.  Sam was a member of Glen Lutheran Church and the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working on cars but he especially loved spending time with his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Carol A. (Kenney) Jacobs; son, Shawn Jacobs, brothers and sisters, Murphy Jacobs, John Jacobs, George Jacobs, Clemmie Jacobs, Lucy Lowry, Adore Clark, Fanny Locklear, Gracie Jacobs.  Sam is survived by his daughters, Dawn Matthews of Kannapolis, NC, Julie Murphy of Easton; brothers, Eugene Jacobs of Rowland, NC, Rother Jacobs of Rowland, NC; sisters, Sally Strickland of Rowland, NC, Sylvia Strickland of Rowland, NC; grandchildren, Patrick Murphy, Jr., Kenneth Matthews, Willy Matthews, Lizabeth Murphy, Rebekah Murphy, Rebecca Murphy, Samantha Murphy, Shawn Jacobs, Miranda Jacobs; great grandchildren, Mason Gray Matthews, Merida Frost Matthew and Mia Murphy.  Friends and family may call at the family owned Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, P.A. on Thursday December 17th from 3-5 & 7-9 PM.  Funeral Service to be held on Friday the 18th 12:00 PM at Glen Lutheran Church.  Interment in Glen Haven Memorial Park to follow service.
