On February 27, 2010, William "Bookie" J. Rosemond of Glen Burnie passed away at BWMC. He was 74. Beloved husband of almost 54 years to Betty J. Rosemond (nee Devlin); Loving father of "Dottie" Deavers of Glen Burnie, Teresa Kuczinski of Glen Burnie, Joanne Gavin of Pasadena, Bookie Rosemond Jr. of Severna Park and John Rosemond of Ocean City; Caring brother of Charles Rosemond, David Rosemond, Jean Phaup and Robert Rosemond, all of Virginia; and step-brother of Patrick and Maria Reardon; Cherished grandfather of 12 and step-grandfather of three. He was predeceased by one brother, Douglas. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he lived in Glen Burnie since 1966. Bookie served in the U.S. Army National Guard reserves. He worked for CSX Railroad for 38 years until he retired. A member of the local #176, he served as the Head of Transportation chairperson for 15 years. He was also a member of the B&O Passenger Club. Bookie was a member and coach of the Glen Burnie Little League Baseball and even took the team to a championship! He enjoyed listening to music, gardening, coaching baseball and basketball and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a generous man who was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
