William Henry Tayman, Jr. was born October 11, 1938 in Annapolis, MD to the late William Henry Tayman, Sr. and Nellie Mae Wyant Tayman. He proudly served in the United State Air Force for 22 years, retiring in 1979 with a rank of Master Sargeant. He later enjoyed a career with the National Security Agency. A man or deep faith, William served as a Sunday School teacher, Royal Rangers commander, attended Marriage and Family seminars, volunteered at Weekend to Remember Conferences and was an active member of the 55+ seniors ministry at Heritage Community Church. He also volunteered with the Red Cross. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Nelta Jean Welch Tayman and his older brother, David Lee Tayman. Left to cherish his memory are his sons Dennis William Tayman (Susan) of Anchorage, Alaska, Daniel Ray Tayman (Tammy) of Youngstown, OH and Dodji Sowou (Merveille) of Glen Burnie as well as 5 grandchildren (Meghan, Sarah, Noah, Nathanael and Rachel) and 2 great-grandchildren (Winifred and Benjamin). 

There will be a private military burial at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, July 16 and a celebration of life service on Saturday, July 18 at 2:00pm at Heritage Community Church (8146 Quarterfield Rd.) in Severn.
