William Frank Wirtz, Sr.

William "Frank" Wirtz, Sr. was born June 20, 1935, in Baltimore to the late Martin and Frances (Scarborough) Wirtz.  He graduated from Towson Senior High in 1953, afterward was a plumber by trade for many years in the Severna Park/Glen Burnie area.  He was and avid reader and a long-time member of Warren Masonic Lodge #51, joining 1972, where he served as Master Mason, Past Master Mason, and Treasurer, and was able to do a lot of good for a lot of people.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Barbara Lea;  his second wife Eleanor; a son, Andrew "Lee"; a daughter, Robin Flory; his only brother, Martin "Marty"; and a sister Sara Dixon. Those left to cherish his memory are: his children,  William (Frank), Jr. and his wife Dawn, of Greensboro, MD.; Mark and his wife Jill, of Reidsville, NC; and Chandra Coffey and her husband David, of Russell, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters: Pauline and her husband Gene Shuey of Gainesville, FL, and Linda Wirtz of Wellington, FL.  He is also survived by his long time companion Sharon Kirchmar of Harundale, MD.

He will be most remembered for his love of laughter.

Frank passed away quietly on October 16, 2019, under the excellent care of the Nurses and staff at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville.  A t the request of the family, there will be no public service or calling hours.  Contributions may be made in his memory to Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
