Willie Mae Bass

Willie Mae Bass, 96, residing in Genesis Care in Severna Park, died peacefully on October 17. 2013. She was born April 3, 1917 to the late Charles and Mary Fences (Norris) Long in Fort Mill, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar E. "Dick" Bass. She moved to Baltimore in the early 40's and lived in Brooklyn Park. She worked as a telephone operator until she retired in 1979. She is survived by her daughter, Norma j. Young of Millersville. She had three grand-daughters, Cynthia A. Young and husband Kurt Spiess, Jr. of Gambrills, Linda C. "Bridgett" Young and fiancé William "Bill" Parfitt of Millersville and the late Mary Frances Young; two grandsons, Charles "CJ" Young, Jr. and his lady Barbara Hill of Glen Burnie and Michael R. Young and his wife Teresa (Teri) Young of Severn. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
